The history of Christoper Ward watches
The idea for this watch brand came when three men were chatting on a boat in May 2004. Peter and Mike had just sold their company, the Early Learning Centre and so had a vast knowledge of building websites, and Chris wanted to move on from his current job in clothing. Although they knew that they wanted to develop a watch brand, they knew nothing about the watch industry. Through various contacts, they were able to access the watch world and so began Christoper Ward.
In June 2005 they launched C5 Malvern Automatic and the C3 Malvern Chronograph. Although sales were initially slow, thanks to a recommendation on a well-known watch forum, sales began to climb.
Always striving, the men developed a relationship with Jörg Bader an independent watchmaker Synergies Horlogères (SH). Bader could see the potential of the watch brand and the companies merged and created Calibre SH21, with its 5–day power reserve and chronometer status in July 2014.
Christopher Ward now has collaborations with Morgan Motor Company, The Motor Sports Hall of Fame’s Official Timing Sponsor.
