The history of Candino watches
The company originated in 1947 by Adolf Flury-Hug Candino in Herbetswil, Switzerland. In 1956 a small factory was opened in Herbetswil. By 1976 they were producing digital watches. The factory continued to expand and in 1988 developed an assembly line for extra flat watches. In 1983 watches had moon phases. In Basel 1987 they launched a watch with a compass. Innotec was used for the first time in 1988. A hard-wearing ceramic two-tone watch.
In 1989 the factory was extended again and became computerised. In the same year, they developed the world’s smallest mechanical altimeter.
Progress into the next decade with the development of a reserve module with 2 independent time-zones regulated by a single crown.
2004 Condino, now owned by the Festina group displayed its first crown protection.
Like most watch brands of a similar nature, Candino has a men's range; Sport Chronos, Classic Timeless, Sport Elegance, Automatic, Planet Solar and Titanium. Moreover, a woman's range; Elegance, Casual, Petite, Angular and Titanium. However, it also has the scope of a couple.
