The history of Asprey watches
Founded in 1781 by William Asprey, in Surrey, England, the Asprey name is a sign of quality and craftsmanship. Now at its home in New Bond Street, London, the brand carries the Royal Warrant, awarded by Queen Victoria in 1892. During the same year, it was also awarded a gold medal during the International Exhibition.
In the 1920s and 30s, Asprey created beautiful pieces in the style of the time, now called ‘Art Deco’.
During WWII Asprey decided to keep the workshop active and saved their craftsmen from the perils of the war. After the war, Asprey continued to grow and develop new pieces.
The brand now produces leather goods such as handbags, silverware, gifts, fine jewellery and watches as well as offering a bespoke service.
Asprey’s history of watches dates back to the 19th Century when their Regulator Clock was displayed in the window. They now produce The Entheus R2. Customers can choose from the beautiful black face with black alligator bracelet, in 18ct white gold, the 18ct rose gold with blue face and matching blue alligator strap or 18ct white gold with a blue alligator strap. These stunning watches now contain silver components, a salute to the silver craftsman. There is also the Click Clark green alligator and stainless steel travel clock.
Asprey continues to be synonymous with design, style and quality.
