HUGO BOSS WATCH MAINTENANCE TIPS

AVOID WATER DAMAGE

If your Hugo Boss watch comes into contact with chlorinated or salt water you should rinse it immediately with clean tap water. Failure to do this can result in the delicate mechanism corroding.

HUGO BOSS WATCH CLEANING

Wearing your Hugo Boss watch naturally leads to a buildup of dust and sweat, combat this by cleaning your watch with a clean toothbrush and liquid soap. Failing to do this might lead your steel strap to oxidize and irritate the skin.

If your Hugo Boss watch has a leather strap, don’t allow it to get wet as it could lead to damage.  Repairs by post can offer watch strap replacement for your Hugo Boss watch and clasp replacement if your strap suffers damage. Repairs By Post also offer Hugo Boss watch polishing too.

A replacement watch clasp saves you having to replace the entire strap. We use either manufactures original parts or generics where suitable. We match the clasp to your strap, fit it and before we return it to you we will assess your watch to see if any other work is required, such as loose links or a scratched glass.

WHAT HUGO BOSS WATCH STRAP IS RIGHT FOR ME?

If you are planning on wearing your Hugo Boss watch in damp environments it’s encouraged you purchase a steel or rubber strap as leather may become damaged in humidity. If your strap becomes damaged, we offer Hugo Boss watch strap replacement.

High quality leather needs looked after properly in order to maintain its beauty and function. Avoid getting your Hugo Boss leather watch strap wet from water, cosmetics and chemicals. Over exposure to the sun may also damage the appearance of the leather. When you’re not wearing your watch, keep it protected from sun damage by storing it in a drawer away from direct sunlight.

TEMPERATURE

Avoid your watch being exposed to rapid changes in temperature, both hot and cold. The movement can be damaged if exposed to temperatures above 60 degrees so avoid leaving your watch in high-risk areas such as windows.

WATCH SHOCKS AND VIBRATIONS

Don’t wear your watch during events where it could receive bumps or knocks. This could affect the inner workings of the mechanism and bracelet. Remove your Hugo Boss watch and keep it in a safe place before undertaking any sporting activities or heavy physical work.

AVOID WATER AND DUST DAMAGE

Always ensure that the crown, which is used to change the hands/date, is properly pushed in and/or screwed at all times. This prevents infiltration of water or dust which leads to internal damage.

HUGO BOSS BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Batteries in Hugo Boss watches should last for up to three years. It’s important that when your battery dies you contact the experts at Repairs by Post for watch battery replacement; dead battery cells can harm the watch movement if left unattended.

HUGO BOSS HISTORY

Hugo Boss watches are a great watch brand for both men and women, Boss wrist wear will never disappoint if you are looking for a wrist wear gift. With a wonderful mix of understated designs to chunky chronographs, the Hugo Boss range has a design that every owner will enjoy wearing. Our current favourite is the Chronograph ´HB6042` as we love the red gold stainless steel.

If you are looking for a watch for a professional, style-driven male or female then there are many Boss styles to suit your needs, but where did this market dominating brand begin?

1920S

In 1924 German designer Hugo Boss launched a clothing company of the same name.  Today, the company is still based in Stuttgart, where the company was born.

1930S

Due to the unsettled German economy at the time the company was almost forced into bankruptcy in 1931 and was left with just six sewing machines. Boss did not let this blow bring the company to a halt and endeavored to survive using the attention to detail and tenacity the brand is known for today.

1940S

During World War 2 the Boss factory was turned into a labour camp where forced labourers worked. Boss was stripped of his voting right and his capacity to run a business in 1946, just two years before his death. Since then the company has made contributions to international compensation funds.

1950S

As a result of Boss’ penalties his son-in-law, Eugen Holy took over the business and supplied work uniforms until 1950 when the brand took their first order for men’s business suits. This led to the expansion of the business and 150 new employees were hired.

1960S

By 1960 the company had remarketed the brand and was producing ready to wear suits, in 1960 Eugen retired and left the company to his two sons Jochen and Uwe who began the process of developing the brand internationally.

1070S

In the 1970s the company produced their first branded suits and registered their trademark in 1977. This began their long relationship with motorsport where the brand sponsored Formula One driver Niki Lauada.

1980S

In 1984 the brand developed further and created their first fragrance, this was the first sign that the Boss brand was destined to dominate multiple industries including luxury menswear, watches and fragrance. In 1989 the company launched their sunglasses, a step towards the accessories market they’re now known for.

1990S

In 1996 The first watch license is granted in 1996 for BOSS. Repairs by post Hugo Boss watch repairs. It is their consideration to design which has allowed Hugo Boss, or ‘Boss’ watches to be a market leader. At the forefront of fashion, Hugo Boss watches are the cutting edge of style, whilst retaining quality workmanship.

2000S

In  May2005 the brand sealed a long-term agreement with MGI Luxury Group, a subsidiary of Movado Group. Movado was originally founded in 1881 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Achilles Ditesheim. In 1983, the company was purchased by Gedalio Grinberg, a Cuban-born Jew, who fled Fidel Castro’s Marxist Revolution in 1960 with his family.

Coupling the modern style of Hugo Boss fashion with Movado Group’s skill in watch-making has led to the creation of two distinct signature lines;
