The history of Enicar watches
Eincar was founded by Racine who initially established the company 'Racine Watch Co.' in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in 1914. By reversing the spelling of his name, he named the company Eincar. Coming from a well-known family of watchmakers, Racine devoted himself to timepieces. The new factory was established in 1930 in Bienne. Throughout the decades that followed Eincar remained at the forefront of invention. During WWII he designed the Sherpa jet watches for the US Air Force.
In 1956 for the Swiss expedition to climb Mount Everest it was an Eincar chronometer that was taken by adventurers. In 1958, Stirling Moss, Formula One champion used an Eincar Ultrasonic Sherpa Chronometer to measure the times of his trials.
During the 1960 and 1970, the watchmaking industry moved towards quartz watches and Eincar was no exception.
Eincar continued to produce world-renowned watches and celebrated its centenary in 2014.
